To finance or not to finance that is the question?

To Finance or not to Finance that is the question??

Here at GFD HQ we would wish to apologise to all of our prospective customers for providing them with a terrible dilemma – when we first added finance packages to our portfolio we were genuinely acting in the best interests of all of our customers we did not consider the dilemma in which we were placing them.

The door that was just out of reach has been brought within your grasp by our actions – we at GFD appreciate that in these difficult economic times money is tight and that not all house hold budgets can stand a one hit payment for a new front door so with our new finance arrangements our customers can spread the cost of the purchase over twelve months allowing them to set their own cash flow which is only dependent upon the cost of their chosen door and at 0% APR it is somewhat cheaper than using a Credit Card.

To steal a couple of lines from the master wordsmith Mr W Shakespeare esquire –

“To sleep perchance to dream: ay, there’s the rub
For in that sleep what wonderful dreams may come- “

We know many of our customer’s dream of a new front door and we also know that a Solidor door from either our standard range or one of the superb Italia Collection are pretty high on the wish list of doors they would like and although our introduction of finance makes all of these doors accessible- and in making such dreams possible we have created a further problem – to finance or not to finance

This dilemma got us thinking how would the afore mentioned William Shakespeare would  have addressed this dilemma if he had been writing about our problem rather than those he addressed in Hamlets Soliloquy Act 3 Scene 1(the bit where he talks to himself

With due reverence to the master Bard we present our take on the question of finance – we have printed the original alongside just to show we are not cheating on content –

But first a word on the respective authors –

GFD Group Finance dilemma

Ian Richardson a legend in his own mind not even known or revered in his own street – has read a lot of comic books. Ian Richardson has no web sites dedicated to him and his literary life could never be described as interesting he has written neither plays nor sonnets. We found no site with fascinating facts for Ian Richardson

To Finance , or not to finance: that is the question:
Whether ‘tis better now to pay and endure
The emptying of one’s account of fortune
Or to accept the financial benefit of payment terms
And be relaxed to know our fortunes are secure
No more the nights devoid of sleep
The heartache and the thousand natural shocks
That come with winter and its draughts
They’ll all be gone with a new front door
To sleep perchance to dream :ay, there’s the rub
For in that sleep what wonderful dreams may come
Of coffers full :new door secured and in its place
But only if the rules finance are obeyed
Such is the dilemma and the concern
For which decision is right and which is wrong
The choice for such choice exists – is yours
Make haste decide which way to go
The door awaits the dream fulfilled
With PIN to hand the time is now – press Click
Or wait, take time, deliberate but please decide
Is this the right time to sign upon the dotted line
Twelve monthly payments and its yours
Think only of the benefits anew door can provide
So warm , no draughts – so safe inside
The praise of friends and neighbours too
And yet we wait no decision made
Thus conscience does make cowards of us all
And thus the need for some form of resolution
Is needed now lest we let the moment slip away
And the dream of security and warmth be lost
With this regard please try to decide
Is it cash in the coffers and finance for you
Or payment up front with all duties paid
To secure the door you’ll always remember

Hamlets Dilemma

William Shakespeare a legend in his lifetime and beyond revered and loved the world over for the gifts he has given to literature. Shakespeare has literally thousands of web sites dedicated to his name his memory his plays etc there were rather a lot of plays –  38 plays and 154 Sonnets (from the BBC world  Service teaching the Chinese world) and no the combined efforts of all at GFD HQ could get no where near naming all of the plays and even less of the sonnets. We even found this fascinating site of   50 lesser known facts about Shakespeare a very  Interesting read.

Hamlets Dilemma

To be, or not to be- that is the question:
Whether ’tis nobler in the mind to suffer
The slings and arrows of outrageous fortune
Or to take arms against a sea of troubles,
And by opposing end them. To die- to sleep-
No more; and by a sleep to say we end
The heartache, and the thousand natural shocks
That flesh is heir to. ‘Tis a consummation
Devoutly to be wish’d. To die- to sleep.
To sleep- perchance to dream: ay, there’s the rub!
For in that sleep of death what dreams may come
When we have shuffled off this mortal coil,
Must give us pause. There’s the respect
That makes calamity of so long life.
For who would bear the whips and scorns of time,
Th’ oppressor’s wrong, the proud man’s contumely,
The pangs of despis’d love, the law’s delay,
The insolence of office, and the spurns
That patient merit of th’ unworthy takes,
When he himself might his quietus make
With a bare bodkin? Who would these fardels bear,
To grunt and sweat under a weary life,
But that the dread of something after death-
The undiscover’d country, from whose bourn
No traveller returns- puzzles the will,
And makes us rather bear those ills we have
Than fly to others that we know not of?
Thus conscience does make cowards of us all,
And thus the native hue of resolution
Is sicklied o’er with the pale cast of thought,
And enterprises of great pith and moment
With this regard their currents turn awry
And lose the name of action.- Soft you now!
The fair Ophelia!- Nymph, in thy orisons
Be all my sins rememb’red.

We again prey forgiveness from all the great literary minds who have worshipped the works of Shakespeare for generations there is no sleight or mockery intended and we hope that all readers of this article will accept it within the spirit in which it is intended.

We are pretty sure that Shakespeare was the sort of character who would have appreciated we mere mortals attempting to mimic his style – this attempt at re writing parts of a classic is nothing new to us at GFD HQ we enjoy trying to be a little different and adding a bit of humour to our offerings – for instance back in May 2014 we borrowed some of the scenes from Romeo and Juliet (not the famous bit) to highlight our Verona door from the Italia collection (the photograph we used was a bit of a giveaway) –

No one is safe from the sense of fun of the GFD team at various times we have rewritten classic songs from the movies such as Bali Hai   from South Pacific or even Eidelweiss from the Sound of Music and many more –

We have had a go at classics such as Charles Dickens – A Christmas Carol and we even re wrote our own three part trilogy of Fifty Shades of Grey Doors (this link is just to part one) just to prove that no one is safe – at GFD HQ we like to try and entertain as well as give all the boring but essential facts which is why if you visit anyone of our sites –

and for those of you in the Trade-

The Trade Village

You will find that mixed in with the boring stuff we add a bit of light hearted FUN.

If we had had the foresight some eight years ago when it came to naming doors we could quite nicely have linked Shakespeare and Stratford and included a very nice image of a Stratford door and extolled its virtues and highlighted how very reasonable it was to either purchase outright or alternatively on finance – unfortunately we did not name a door the Stratford – but we do have a Stafford which is pretty close – well the spelling is if not the geographical location

The Stafford door in red with eye catching elegance pattern glazing and gold accessories

If this was the door that you decided upon the normal next question would be what does it cost and / or what does it cost with finance – at GFD we try to make life easy – providing you have designed your door using the “door designer” on our web site all you have to do is complete the request quote form and submit and you will receive by return a fully documented quotation – in the very best “Blue Peter” traditions here is one we prepared earlier for this very Stafford

PS Donald is a made up name – the page goes on a bit from here with the technical stuff but the important bits included in this mail are –

One off Purchase price door £ 799.00 inc VAT or on 0% finance for 12 months £66.58 per month

One off Purchase and install price £1180 .00 inc VAT or 0% finance for 12 months £98.33 per month

We at GFD HQ believe that this is the very information that every customer needs to solve the dilemma of “to finance or not to finance” that we at GFD have created.

From the GFD point of view our teaming with Barclays Finance and acting as a credit broker has allowed us to resolve one of the companies frequently asked questions “do you supply finance” and until now we have always responded in the negative – but that is not the GFD way we aim to be positive in every aspect of the way we interact with our customers and as we do listen – if our customers want to purchase on finance we believed we had a duty to provide them with this service.

At GFD Group we realise that any purchase on credit of any kind can be a major decision for any household which is why we have tried to take a simple step by step illustrative approach to the instruction on our web site – before any purchaser proceeds to design and order a door of their choice we would recommend that they take a look at the finance page of our web site – for example https://www.timbercompositedoors.com/finance/ where they will find clear instructions as to that which they can expect when entering into such arrangement – there is a short graphic presentation showing the route through the documentation and a series of FAQ’s – at GFD Group we want our customers to be happy with and enjoy their purchase not over commit and cause themselves unnecessary hardship.

Whatever style or colour of door you are looking for we are sure you will find the answer to your dreams on our Timber Composite Door web site with its Solidor Collection of standard and Italia Collection doors there is so much to choose from twenty nine door styles seventeen colours and a multitude of glazing and accessory options the more we try to give our customers what they want the more dilemmas and decisions we put before them.

The new door you always promised yourself is now within reach and we provide the perfect means to allow you to make the choice that is right for you – please enjoy the process of selecting the door of your dreams by using our “door designer” where you can create literally millions of permutations of styles colours and accessories, before you make that final decision.

At GFD HQ we hope our light-hearted use of the words of William Shakespeare has assisted you in making your decision as “to finance or not to finance” but if you still have concerns a telephone call to one of our sales team will quickly resolve and clarify any lingering concerns.
