Food Deliveries to Your Home the Smart Way

If you are big into technology and have recently ordered a Solidor door from Timber Composite Doors you may well have opted for the Yale Smart Lock as your door lock of choice, alternatively, if you are simply browsing and maybe looking for a new door and you wonder what all the fuss is about with regard to Smart Locks – read on.

If you have already purchased one of our doors you will already know about the Yale Smart lock’s many features – how it can connect to numerous “smart hubs” “Alexa “ etc and how Yale’s Smart Lock App-

  1. allows you to open the door by twisting your phone 90 degrees in front of the lock reader
  2. allows you to send mobile keys to friends and family remotely for as long as you choose.
  3. provides an audit so that you can keep track of who comes and goes

If your new to “smart locks “and want to find out more a visit to our sister company Eurosecure – specifically our “smart Living “page –

https://www.euro-secure.com/product-category/smart-living/yale-smart-living/yale-smart-door-locks/

which will provide you with all of the information you need to make an informed choice as to whether “smart locks” are for you.

One of the unique features of the Smart lock – the ability to send mobile keys to friends and family remotely is currently being trialed by a well-known supermarket chain (Waitrose – While You’re Away Service) as a way to assist with grocery deliveries. The Yale Keyless Smart door lock is the key to the success of this service, as the lock enables the customer to grant the delivery driver access to the property by setting a temporary access code for the lock, this code is then sent to the supermarket via a secure app and then it is forwarded the driver’s device at the time the customer has booked for the delivery – the driver will enter the property put refrigerated and frozen goods away and leave other groceries on the kitchen counter, or elsewhere if instructed to do so by the customer, once the delivery is complete the code given to the driver is is deleted.

A full record of the driver’s delivery is kept from the driver’s chest web cam and the video of the delivery can be made available to the customer within 24 hours should they require it.

Nigel Fisher, Managing Director for Yale UK, says,

‘Working with Waitrose & Partners to develop the UK’s first in-home delivery service is an exciting premise for Yale, as we look to understand how smart products can enhance daily lives, as well as protecting your home. Our heritage and priority is in security, but the technologies we’re now working with means we can also collaborate with companies, like Waitrose, to develop services that fit with modern life.’

It all sounds like a great solution to a boring chore to the Timber Composite Doors team and it’s a solution choice that’s available to every one of our customers purchasing one of our new Solidor doors or for those, a little more DIY minded you can purchase the required system of choice from our Eurosecure web site.

Here at Eurosecure we may not be able to assist you with your particular choice of grocery shopping – but there is not much we do not know about Yale Keyless Smart Locks take a look at our website if you want to find out more
