1-2-3 – Open or maybe not

Online shopping is the future – at least that is what we have been told for years – but is it? Here at GFD HQ we certainly hope so because we have invested heavily in the technology and know-how to give our customers a fast and efficient way of purchasing new front doors through our various web site companies Timber Composite Doors, Global Door, Fusion Door, Composite Door Prices and or if it’s just accessories your after Eurosecure – we believe our service is pretty good – but a new BBC article “How long will you wait for a shopping web site to load” certainly gives food for thought.

Here at GFD Group HQ we would have guessed the patience level of the majority of online customers would have become stretched somewhere between 5 and 10 seconds – but clearly if this article is to be believed we were being just a trifle optimistic., because apparently it is quite normal for the average web site viewer to look elsewhere if the page does not open in THREE seconds.

As internet speeds and availability have increased the logical belief would be that everything had been / or could be speeded up – apparently not so – in our efforts to bring our products to a greater number of the population and linking in “Facebook/ Google/ Twitter” etc we have inadvertently shot ourselves in the foot and slowed the whole system down.

Here at GFD we could not resist the challenge – using the old fashioned methods of counting in one head we gave it ago –

Our yardstick – one Mississippi – two Mississippi – three Mississippi – which we have always found was a pretty good way of judging a time in seconds – each increase in Mississippi’s representing a second –

Open up our flagship Timber Composite Doors web site the one where you can purchase superb quality doors like this beautiful “Messina “in blue with “Everglade” glazing and contemporary Long bar handle-

– working on a pretty standard lap top using Windows 10 in a pretty reasonable reception area and an average internet speed – somewhere between three and four Mississippi’s -not bad. Now the hard bit opening pages from the “drop down” bar – between two and three Mississippi’s for any one of them and on to the subpages again between two – three Mississippi’s.

We accept that it is a pretty rough test and that’s may well vary depending upon where you live and your internet reception but with results that are in line with the BBC article we have to be happy. What is more surprising our web site also incorporates all the links that are supposed to slow it down.

Here at GFD HQ we try to answer all of our customer’s possible questions which is why our web sites are crammed full of specification information, design your own door information, pretty graphics and stunning images of actual installations plus we have pages for both installation and finance options and they all open in three seconds – our developers have excelled themselves – step forward and take a bow Rob.

Here at GFD HQ we only launch our websites when they have been thoroughly tested because if it works for us it will work for our customers and a satisfied customer is likely to browse a little longer and the place we want our potential customers to browse – any one of our web site companies Timber Composite Doors, Global Door, Fusion Door, Composite Door Prices and or if it’s just accessories your after Eurosecure
